Why Wild Pines Park makes an amazing boarding or pastoral group day

A group visit to Wild Pines Park gives pupils the chance to step away from their usual routine, try something different and build confidence in the outdoors.

From high ropes and zip lines to archery, mini golf and woodland team challenges, every part of the day encourages communication, resilience, trust and shared achievement.

Some pupils arrive ready to take on everything. Others need encouragement and support. By the end of the visit, many leave having achieved more than they expected — and that is what makes the experience so valuable.

Flexible packages for different groups and budgets

Boarding and pastoral groups often have different aims, group sizes and confidence levels, so we offer a range of activity options to suit your visit.

Whether you are planning a boarding house day out, weekend activity, reward trip, wellbeing session, nurture group visit or lower-cost outdoor experience, we can help recommend the best package for your pupils.

Booking your group visit

Contact our team with your preferred date, approximate numbers, age range and the type of day you are looking for, and we will help you choose the most suitable package.

When you book with Wild Pines Park, you will receive personal support to help plan the day, organise timings and make sure the visit works smoothly for your group.

Risk assessments and school paperwork

Before your visit, we can provide the key information needed to help plan the trip, including risk assessments, insurance documentation, operational procedures and a clear outline of how the day will run.

This helps staff understand the visit, prepare pupils and plan the day with confidence.

Supervision and group organisation

Our instructors lead the activity sessions and supervise the technical safety of the ropes course. They provide safety briefings, support pupils during the activities and help organise the flow of the day.

Schools remain responsible for pupil supervision, behaviour management and pastoral care in line with their own visit policy.

Before your visit, we will advise on practical group sizes, activity rotations and the best way to organise your pupils across the day. Our team will also confirm the supervision arrangements when you arrive.

For ropes activities, pupils are attached to our continuous safety system and are monitored by our instructor team throughout their session.

WHAT TO WEAR

Most Wild Pines Park activities take place outdoors, so pupils should wear comfortable clothing they do not mind getting a little muddy, and should dress for the weather.

For ropes activities, pupils must wear secure, closed-toe footwear with good grip. Trainers or other supportive shoes are ideal. Open toed shoes, sandals, flip flops and slip on footwear are not suitable for the courses.

Long hair should be tied back, waists should be covered, and body piercings should be removed or taped over where needed, as pupils will be wearing harnesses.

Gloves can be useful, especially in colder weather. Pupils are welcome to bring their own, and spare pairs may be available to borrow on the day.

There are changing facilities on site if pupils need to change before or after activities.
